Plastic Cutting Boards are generating Micro-Plastics

Sustainability Tip – As the Plastic Cutting Boards are worn down after the thrusts of the knife cuts your food (slicing the plastic) , the plastic board is generating micro-plastics and chemical additives that is entering your food. Current studies are saying that 50% of the microplastics being generated are entering your food, the other 50% is going down the drain (which is bad as well) when the cutting board is getting washed. Microplastics have been detected in human blood, lung tissue, and placentas. We don't know the long-term health effects, but we know less exposure to micro-plastic consumption is better. What is the best alternative to a plastic cutting board? Titanium cutting boards. No cut marks or grooves will be cut into the board. That means no grooves for food particles to hide in and become bacteria, and no chemical additives being generated from your board. No micro-plastic ending up in your bloodstream.
