A young whale starved to death on a beach at the Philippine City of Davao in 2019. 88 Pounds of plastic were found in the Whale’s stomach. The whale, like so many other sea animals and fish, mistake plastic for food and eat it. This whale couldn’t digest the plastic and eventually starved to death as the whale’s stomach was completely full of plastic. Items included in the stomach included rice sacks and plastic bags.
The message here is to keep plastic and trash out of the water.
Plastic breaks down to micro plastic > the fish eat the micro-plastic > and humans eat the fish.
The news reports about microplastics being found in humans is true.
